THE LAST WORD. Taylor Adams

this week i read THE LAST WORD by taylor adams.

i read NO EXIT by taylor adams about 1 year ago, and was completely absorbed in it. the pacing was on point and the story was engrossing.

imagine being stuck at a rest stop in a snow storm surrounded by a group of strangers. could be fun, could be uncomfortable, could be downright creepy.

but now imagine you learn that one of them is a kidnapper, or maybe worse, after finding a young girl locked in an animal crate inside one of the stranded strangers’ cars.

there’s no cell service. you’re stranded in a snow storm. there’s a girl locked up and in danger of dying or being killed. what do you do?

that’s NO EXIT.

THE LAST WORD provided the same i’m-on-the-edge-of-my-fucking-seat feeling. the same how-the-heck-is-she-going-to-get-out-of-this feeling. and the same i-can’t-imagine-how-scared-i’d-be feeling.

i read it in 2 evenings. one of my fav feelings is when i am so invested in a book that i think about it throughout the day and count the minutes until i can get back to reading it.

and that’s what this book was for me.

G A M E.

i got a miyoo mini plus and programmed it with a ton of gameboy, GBA, and GBC games from my childhood. i’ve been jumping back and forth between a few.

Wario Land 3: if you haven’t played it, you’re really missing out ——>

Mario + Luigi Superstar Saga: i find this to be such a fun twist on mario games.

Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town

major inspo behind stardew valley (another fav, played it throughout my surgery recovery along with breath of the wild)

Pokemon Unbound

(first time playing it) the dialogue is hilarious and brutal
